Ramla's city museum, in the 1922 building that was the town hall under the British Mandate, opposite the central bus station

The museum opened in 2001 in a historic building put up in 1922, which served as Ramla's municipality building under the British Mandate; its display was renewed and the museum reopened to the public in 2024. Its permanent exhibition, in four halls, tells the history of Ramla from its founding in the eighth century to today, with rare archaeological finds on loan from the Israel Antiquities Authority, a corner on the city's transit camps after 1948 and a hall on the British Mandate and the War of Independence. A separate hall shows a hoard of 376 gold dinars and six gold ingots found by chance in 1964 near the White Tower, beside a hoard of 184 Mamluk-period coins found in 1996. The Contemporary Art Center works in the museum compound with changing exhibitions of Israeli art, the building also holds the Yad Lebanim memorial room for the city's fallen, and children can strike a copper coin as in the past.
