Ron Beach Hotel stands on the waterfront of the Sea of Galilee in the north of Tiberias. Its site says the Amsalem family, who have lived in Tiberias since the 16th century, built it in 1977, and that the rooms and facilities have since been completely renovated. All 136 rooms have a balcony facing the lake, the Golan Heights and, in winter, the snow on Mount Hermon. The grounds hold a half-Olympic outdoor pool with a toddlers' pool, a tropical garden along the shore, a fitness room, a basketball court, a playground, a cafeteria and three meeting rooms, and the restaurant serves buffet breakfasts and dinners. The site says the hotel takes many groups of pilgrims, and that it holds no kosher certificate.
