IZ Cafe's story starts in 2015, when chef Itzik Fernberg came home from Paris after eight years in French cooking and, with his wife Liat, opened a neighbourhood café in HaShmura, a quarter in the heart of Zichron Yaakov; by its own account it soon grew into a restaurant with a European air and a French touch. Its dairy bistro menu runs from coffee with fresh pastries and breakfasts from around the world to salads made on the spot, sandwiches and toasts, fish, an Italian corner of pizzas, pastas and lasagnes, desserts and wine, with vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free dishes, and a set lunch from Sunday to Thursday. It seats meals and small events of up to 70, caters for up to 150, and delivers around Zichron Yaakov, Binyamina, Pardes Hanna, Caesarea and the villages of the Carmel coast. It opens at 08:00, closes at 16:00, or 13:30 on Friday, and is closed on Shabbat and holidays.
