Tishbi's restaurant in Zichron Yaakov sits in an old, imposing stone building at the entrance to the town's pedestrian street, at 33 HaMeyasdim, and is one of two restaurants run by Tishbi Winery; the other is at the winery itself. By the winery's account it is a romantic kosher dairy restaurant with a local kitchen built on the region's seasonal produce and matched to Tishbi's wines. Its specials come out of a wood-fired stone oven made by the French firm Le Panyol: pizzas with unusual toppings, crisp focaccias and fish baked in the taboon. Desserts are made by the winery's pastry chefs with Valrhona chocolate, which Tishbi imports, and a wine shop inside the restaurant sells Tishbi's wines. It opens at 08:00 from Sunday to Friday, takes table bookings by phone except on Friday, when seats go to whoever comes, and is closed on Shabbat and holidays.
