Is this your business?Claim it freeA museum of Haifa's history in two restored Templer buildings at the edge of the German Colony, where the city's story is told alongside contemporary art.
The Haifa City Museum follows the growth of a modern Mediterranean city, from the 18th century, when Daher al-Omar, ruler of the Galilee, pulled down old Haifa and built a new one, through its years as a mixed and cosmopolitan city to the northern metropolis of today, telling the city's stories through history and contemporary art. It stands at the edge of the German Colony in two carefully preserved Templer buildings: Beit HaAm, built in 1869 as the Templers' first community building and given a large hall and a bell tower in 1890, and the Templer school of 1902. The museum opened in Beit HaAm in 2000 and in the school building in 2004, and the courtyard between the two is used for gatherings and events. It runs educational programmes for children and families, cultural and historical tours, and a Templer escape game through the German Colony.
