A museum and cultural centre on Hillel Street in central Jerusalem that works for tolerance, dialogue and shared life, with exhibitions, an art centre, an open amphitheatre and daily guided tours

The Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem is an international institution in the city centre that works for tolerance, dialogue and shared life in a diverse society, inspired by the idea of Abraham's tent. Its work rests on five pillars: changing exhibitions and a permanent exhibition that its site says will open soon, an art and culture centre, an education wing, an international conference centre and a culinary centre. The building, of about 18,800 square metres on four levels between the new city and the Old City, is entered through the Tikkun Olam garden, which leads to a plaza and an open amphitheatre for about 1,000 people with a restored section of an ancient aqueduct, and its walls combine Portuguese limestone with a wide glass front facing south. Guided tours in Hebrew and English run from Sunday to Friday and are booked ahead.
